After winning RSA bursaries and travelling the world, Jude accepted a position in Belgium designing textiles. It was during this period that Jude developed a taste for contemporary British furniture. 
 
By the end of the 'designer decade' in London Ida had thrived as an interior designer. After three years in the capital she fled to pursue her first love - furniture design. 

These disparate environments helped shape Ida and Jude's contrasting and often conflicting tastes of design and style. When Jude tire of the Belgium sense of humour and Ida tire of designing twiddly wooden sofas they decided to meet on neutral terms. This is the time they began to sort out their design differences and start planning a future together.

Ten years, two children and one sabbatical later the two found them selves travelling to further plan for the future being inspired by landscape, architecture and great designs.

A harmonious fusion of Jude & Ida's diverse tastes & styles has been toiled over, and has come to fruition in an exclusive range presented under the Couch Design brand.
